Matt Millen Fired

Wow! Apparently Matt Millen, coach for the Detroit Lions for the past seven years, has been fired. It would seem that Detroit fans will be dancing in the streets since Matt Millen's record of 31-84 is the worst in the league. It's pretty bad when they don't even pretend he's "resigning" -- that's when you know someone has been unceremoniously canned.

I'm not sure why they didn't do this years ago, it's not as if he's ever been very good at coaching. Personally, I would suggest Millen go back to what he actually did well: sports broadcasting. Quite likely, he'll resume that career path once all the media hubub has died down.

Congrats to the Detroit Lions, who may actually win some games now!
